Thanks for the help, Andy! Just using pscale is a whole lot easier than what I was trying to do…

Varying Scale based on Position? Aug. 21, 2018, 5:21 p.m.

Hello everyone!

I'm a bit of a noob, so I don't have very much experience with VEX or using point attributes, but I've run into a problem I haven't quite been able to find an answer to online. What I'm trying to do is to use a Copy Stamp to copy a box to a series of scattered points, and I want to use the vertical position of the points to scale down the copies the further they are from the origin.

I've been able to find how to add random variation to copies with the stamp() expression and $PT, but I can't quite figure out how to get the copies to scale in a predictable way like I want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Using Multiparm Blocks? July 26, 2018, 11:08 p.m.

Hello everyone!

I'm a fairly new Houdini user, and one of the things I've been exploring and experimenting with a lot lately is how to make digital assets. It's a pretty basic task, I know, but I'm now fairly confident creating simple interfaces for my assets. What I'd like to do now is to push myself to include some more advanced functionality in my assets' interfaces. A couple of days ago, I found this video of a building tool made for Ghost Recon Wildlands, and I was absolutely blown away:

At one point you see a panel in the menu set up to use a multiparm block to add booleans to the base building geometry.

My questions are how do you go about setting up a multiparm block, and when is it advantageous to use one?

Thank you ahead of time. All of the other folder types are very self-explanatory, but I don't quite know what to do with these.
