As a complete Houdini beginner (but old softimage hand) I learnt that curves in Houdini are confusing and under supported, that everything requires some tweaking but that the ability to tweak is mind bogglingly good, I also learnt that once you make a spiral "curve" save it out as an asset to be reused later (no idea how to do that yet), and I also learnt that Subdivs in Houdini are not like Soft or Maya. I also learnt that someone who knows Houdini well enough to make a tutorial is still a bit lost with all the options and menus which makes me feel slightly better about being quite so confused. So for 11 minutes for me it was quite enlightening.
