Shadow pass for one object

Hi guys,

I am getting shadows of both my sphere and grid (assigned with Shadowmatte shader) in the render below, I only want to have the shadow of my sphere. Making the grid a phantom makes both objects' shadows disappear.

Anybody can help me get around this?

use shadow mask on your lights to exclude ground from shadowcasting
so it would be something like

* ^groundname

or you can possibly make it invisible to shadow rays by setting it's opacity to 0 when shadow ray is detected (Is Shadow Ray VOP)

the shadow mask solved it, I am not so familiar with the VOP solution - maybe I can look into that soon! :shock:
