Hi guys, I am getting shadows of both my sphere and grid (assigned with Shadowmatte shader) in the render below, I only want to have the shadow of my sphere. Making the grid a phantom makes both objects' shadows disappear. Anybody can help me get around this? eitht.

use shadow mask on your lights to exclude ground from shadowcasting so it would be something like * ^groundname

or you can possibly make it invisible to shadow rays by setting it's opacity to 0 when shadow ray is detected (Is Shadow Ray VOP)

Thanks tamte! the shadow mask solved it, I am not so familiar with the VOP solution - maybe I can look into that soon! eitht.
