Hi All,
Im a bit stumped on the correct approach to create a velocity volume from a 2d grid which will then successfully act on an existing volume. I have no issue in injecting a field into DOPs . Its just how to get a new velocity volume into DOP's and position it so the field for instance acts on the y max position of the existing volume.
Hope that makes sense

Use the Pump tool shelf and select the geometry you want to inject.
The shelf tool will create a Volume Source SOP and there you can add velocity.
In DOPs this adds a Source Apply DOP with the correct namespace references in your simulation.
That's one way…

There's at least one school like the old school!
