Everytime I try to open any of the Houdini software, it comes up with a message box saying “Fatal Error: Floating Point Exception” and then it suddenly turns off. Ive tried installing different versions of Houdini, but it still says the same thing, and ive tried unistalling and installing, but there is still a problem.

Can someone please help me with this problem because I cant even use Houdini anymore!!!

What version of Houdini? What OS are you running?
There's at least one school like the old school!

What is your video card? This can be a factor from the very start because the whole interface is OpenGL.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure anyone's got that card working with Houdini. It's pretty old. Try getting the latest drivers. I would recommend getting something cheap like the NVidia FX5200 - it's a budget solution that tends to work for most people.

Cheers,

I had a gforce 4 mx 440 that did the job, if you have a friend that can lend you there new NVIDIA card for an hour you could try things out cheaply.
