I've searched, find a lot of useful information but not what I want.

I would like to set the “$OS” value to the group name parameter when I create a “Group” node.

Is there any way to do this simply?

Yes > from the groups parameter pane > select the fly out menu from the cog logo and save yourself a preset . I always use `opname(“.”)` over $OS

instead of saving a preset you can choose Save as Permanent Defaults so it will be a default value each time you create the node without the need of loading a preset
