NTmatter2, can you describe KDE 3.3 setup/update process?
I attempt to update KDE 3.2 to 3.3.
The necessary packages are prescribed in /etc/portage/package.keywords, but errors appear.
bash-2.05b# emerge -uD kde
Calculating dependencies
!!! Problem in kde-base/kde dependencies.
!!! “Specific key requires an operator (kde-base/kdebindings-3.3.0) (try adding an ‘=’)”
and
bash-2.05b# emerge -uD /usr/portage/kde-base/kde/kde-3.3.0.ebuild

What they do indicate and as correct to establish KDE 3.3?

If you're upgrading, you can just do
emerge sync
emerge -DUupv world to see what will be merged, and emerge -DUuv world to do the actual upgrades. Most of the time, this will go without a hitch. Of course, it'll take a rather long time to update everything, which is the nature of Gentoo
Judging by the error you've got, I think that you've either got an outdated version of portage that is having trouble with changes to the structure of the ebuild, or an old ebuild with some bugs in it. Just try the procedure outlined above, and see if anything happens.
