When I load my geo I get a weird display in the viewport.

It sometimes goes away, but when I press “Alt” to navigate it shows up again for the duration.

It's driving me batty…. any ideas why this is?

Thank you

Attached how it should look vs how it looks when I press “alt” and open file first. :x

Thank you for the help but there's nothing to upload.

It happens in any file I create. Even if I just lay down a cube in an empty file.

Or any file I open created by someone else.

Which OS, graphics card & driver? Have you tried the most recent graphics driver?

Mac Pro - 12 core - Bootcamped Win 7 - Latest AMD HD 5770 drivers with Catalyst

Worked just dandy for a long time - changed all of a sudden. Can't figure out why.

Would appreciate any troubleshooting advice.

I installed and reinstalled latest drivers.

Thank you

go to this:
edit—>preferences—>3D viewports
change scene renderer to GL 2.1 or 1.1
if with this way your problem fix, probably your driver have problem.
try different drivers for this problem.

You mean uninstall the graphics driver?

If I do that and restart the computer it automatically installs it back. Besides, without it I cannot use the monitor resolution… and I doubt I could use Houdini either.

Or am I not understanding you correctly?

yes uninstall the graphics driver and then open houdini because with that way we can ensure about problem that it's from graphic driver or not.

Did that - it appears that it IS from the graphics driver. I do have the latest. Maybe I should switch back.

Installed my old driver - it works now… Thank you so much.

I did not install any new driver, but I do have Catalyst and I don't know if it updates drivers automatically or what.
