Hi can anyone point me towards some tutorials about setting up vex sops in vops
(some times using houdini jargon i feel like Dr Seuss. The vex sop vop went roppy cop pop)

Hey,
The real good ones are in the 3D Buzz DVDs and I highly recommend that you buy them. They go much further than the SideFX videos. If you want to really really learn VOPs, VEX, Mantra, etc then you need to start reading renderman books. Renderman Essentials is a good starting point.

Or at least check out all the OdForce and standart Help tutorials on the topic.Jason Iverson has created a bunch of really cool tutorials. And after you get the idea - start digging the availible shaders. In my opinion it's enough to get the basics of Mantra, een not reading renderman books. Though, as MatrixMan said - it's always a great plus, and, eventually a must.
