Can someone explain how to use the “Stiffen Features” capability of the PolyReduce SOP?

Like what you feed it, what exactly it does, etc.?

I can't get it to do what I thought it should do.

Hey Craig, like so:



Don't forget the ‘Features’ field in the PolyReduce SOP. Now when you adjust the slider it will devote less or more of total available polygons to keep that part of the geometry at its pre-reduced state.

Will this work for primitive groups, or just point groups? (Not at my Houdini station right now…) I thought I did this exact thing with no luck, which prompted my writing this, but will try it again.
