I try to sample a volume in a volume vop which is connected to the second input of the vop .. something doesnt work can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong ? .. I know I could use the volume merge node for the attached file, but I need the volume vop for a more complex setup later on ..

You need to turn off Autobind by Name in Volume VOP if you want to use the default volume output which is bound to density.
