Hi,

after installing the apprentice version on ubuntu 14.1, the very first window with the license manager is black. Just the radio buttons are white. No Text, nothing. As Driver I installed the tested proprietary Nvidia binary version 331.113 but neither with this nor with the other 4 drivers wich are included in the standard installation of ubuntu solve the problem. Do I have to explicit tag something on or off?

same with me,
installed recent linux mint and nvidia 346.47 driver

even got Houdini running by clicking through the (black) licensing from guesswork
but all icons, typo and stuff are missing

would also be glad about a hint

P.s. guess the problem's rather on the linux/gpu settings side

tried running Blender which detected my GPU under Win7 instanly,
but doesn't do so under linux mint (same machine)…

Just finished getting this CUDA 7 thing installed

this solved the issue I mentioned having with Blender (GPU is detected correctly now)
but Houdini's still all black on black.

I will give it a try with the 13.0.7 build
(as I understand Qt is newly used for the layout and stuff in 14.0.x so maybe thtat's somehow the core of the poodle?)

Houdini 13.07x works perfectly !

Don't know why14.0x doesn't (am quite a noob in fact - both with linux + Houdini)

So still any clues would be very much appreciated

Houdini's been pretty solid for me with 340.76 under Mint 17.1 (no black windows).

Maybe try 340 drivers?
