hello
There are several growth topics and files, but I'm new to Houdini and most of them uses the advanced setup that I don't understand.
- I want a single film strip to grow from nothing to full length.

with textures ..
- here, I think is a simpler one :
Houdini Crystal Growth

It would be great if someone points me to the right direction and give me a simple file that does what this demo does.
thank you very much for your time.

cool , thank you.
I'm trying my best to catch up with the latest tutorials.
This setup as you said is very basic and I'm aware of it.
I just needed it to be particles like the demo.
and please help me out with my first question. I have a project that I need the answer how to do it in Houdini!!
edit :do I have to use simple clip sop to clip my geometry instead of growing?
or is there any better way?

hmm i think you have to make your setup a bit different.
i think your control would be a curve for controlling the shape of the filmroll.
so you have to start with a curve and the you can build up each frame. like that you get more control.
look the buildings tutorial they should help you:

btw. made something with particle have fun to play…
when i have got some time i can make a solution.

Hi Hadi
Maybe my test would help you if you add a deformer at the end of nodes to deform the whole roll and use grow parameter on the animate node to reach your desired look. But fixing the length of the 3 end copys of the main shape is a bit tricky and maybe someone could help you on that.
