Any reason why local variables like $PR is removed in the new enhanced Polyextrude.(Houdini 15)
If there is a better work flow please let us know.

The new SOPs are designed to take input attributes to work on.
Several reasons why new SOPs don't support local variables:
- almost impossible to thread SOPs with arbitrary parameter functions using local variables.
- Inconsistent use of local variables between the various older SOPs.
- Vectors represented as three individual parameters force all three parameters to be evaluated instead of working directly with vectors in Wranglers.

Where we do feel the need to expose user-defined expressions, we rely on Snippet VOPs to promote up the VEX Wranglers.
