I wan't to create a serie of “cut through” curves from a polygon object.

if you have a cylinder the result would be a circle, for a cube a rectangle.
(when using the y axis for cut through normal)

There's also the Clip SOP. So one way would be to clip your surface and then delete everything except for those edges.

Don't forget surfsect too.
