Working on some particle animations inside a Popnet I created. I have the look the way I want it inside the Popnet, but if I go back outside the Popnet and see the same animation it looks completely different.

In the attachment, the top view is outside the Popnet, with the display flag on the Popnet.

The bottom is the look I actually want, inside the Popnet.

Am I missing some setting that might cause these to be drastically different?

It could be that when you are inside the network you have selected a node that is not the final node? So you are only viewing up to that point in the network. When you pop out one level the Output flag is honored and the viewport reveals the final result.

But when outside the Popnet, I have the display flag on the Popnet that I was just inside. And inside the Popnet, my display flag is on the Output node.

Do you have any scaling at the object level?
The popnet will merge the source into it, so it may look different when outside the popnet as it will then inherit any transforms/scale etc.
