how to hide particles from popnet?

Can you elaborate?
Are you referring to the guide from the copy sop? ( blue dots where the copy points are ) You can disable guides in display settings, but it doesn't really affect anything other than display when viewing the copy node. When you render with mantra or some other renderer, the original points should not be visible.
Perhaps the sprite shader from the grain setup is getting passed on to the sphere primitives? You can control which attributes are inherited during the copy, by changing the filters on the copy operator.
Edit: ah, it was the guides. Note: If you display any downstream node from the copy, the guides should not be visible.
