Hi all!

I'm having an issue trying to emulate the workflow of creating fur as it was in Houdini 15.5

I'm not able to create fur just in the selected primitives of an object, an operation that worked in 15.5.
This is what I do:

1. I create a torus object
2. I select some of the faces of the object
3. I click the create fur tool
4. When I click the add fur tool in the shelf, the network goes to the top level and I lose the selection. And if I click the fur tool from here and press enter, it will apply the fur to the entire geo.

Any clue of how could I add fur just to a selection (in the object context), avoiding blasts or way arounds? (just to be the more memory efficient possible)

Thanks!!

Hi,
as far as I know H16 does not apply fur to the selection as before. Instead create a group based on your selection then pick that group only in your guide groom node. I encontered this problem some time ago and figured out this is the only way to assign the fur/hair to your selection.
