Hello,
Again with the UI scripting, be able to specify a floating pane to be Always on Top. Not sure how hard that is since it's a window-manager thing, but there you go, useful nonetheless.
One day, Houdini's UI will be scriptable, and there will be rejoicing.

We can make a pane always on top in windows but linux is more tricky.
On Windows, I can control window behaviour quite nicely with the nvidia drivers that I use. Recent drivers (last year) have had this ability but you have to run nVview and I know some users don't like that.
In that case, install the Windows unsupported but fully functional “Tweak UI” tools. Besides coming with a bunch of cool tools, it adds functionality to windows that control the “On Top” behaviour of all windows (except Cygwin windows :evil: ).
