I have a question, if each primitive is separated from the other; how would you rotate primitives independently based on a vector attribute ?
Also;
How do you create a second set of normals based on an attribute which behave identical to that of the normals attribute ? How do you create a vector that follows an edge ?

Everything your attempting to do is covered in this tutorial, study it thoroughly:

If you have problems with the tut in applying it to your specific application, just make a small hip file with focus on the issue and someone might be able to help.

Use the group field of the transform sop. Will transform just the primitives in the group.
