I can't seem to connect to help file examples through the internal Houdini ? help.

The pages will display ok but no help files are shown - http://127.0.0.1:48626/nodes/sop/lsystem [127.0.0.1]

If I connect to help through SideFX site the files are there but it says I cant load load them. - http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/nodes/sop/lsystem.html [www.sidefx.com]

I have seen some reference to removing a preferences folder in my $HOME directory but I dont seem to have that folder to start with.

I could really use these example files.

If you're talking about actual example files that can be opened, it's located under "Side Effects Software\Houdini<your_houdini_version>\houdini\help\files"

For example, PDG tutorials are located here [www.sidefx.com].

I have a similar issue
The help pages never open on linux aslo not the help -> Example files as this is still considered a help page
so i trie to go to the directory and open the files directly similar to what @zdmit recomended

but there is only an hda file and no hip file ...
so i try importing in houdini the import?houdini digital asset
which leads to broken connection and errors as well as me not beeing allow do edit the nodes and there is also no option to unlock them...
i also copied them to the lob stage insted of obj but then the connections are still missing
any ideas what i could try next ?
