Hi,

I'm starting to learn the new H17 height field terrain tools. Really cool stuff.
I checked the masterclass video by Ari Danesh, but the step I need is not explained.

I'm stuck:
Once I have eroded the terrain, exported the maps and created a texture in PhotoShop for a principled shader:
What's the proper (intended) way to delete all ‘sim data’ (colors and such) and assign a proper principled shader for rendering the terrain?

I used the convert node (to polys), and setting a material (geometry node, render tab) does not get picked up.

I just found this, but that's just a preview solution:
http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/nodes/sop/heightfield_quickshade.html [www.sidefx.com]

Any input welcome!
m.

Oh boy.

It works if I use the ‘convert heightfield’ node - and NOT the standard ‘convert’ node!
(Thanks for the sidefx support on this one!)

Cheers,
