of course you can, if you open a numbered file sequence.

But is it possible to open more than one file (or sequence) without appending them one after the other, manually? It seems, you cannot select more than one in the file open dialog.

When opening from the shell, any sort of file globbing should work, as the shell expands the glob pattern into a file list on evaluation.

for example, open a shell and cd to a folder full of jpgs, and type mplay *.jpg to open all of them at once
