I assume this will never be fixed for v8 - any word that in Houdini 9 this will work, or be replaced by something that will?
Trying to match lighting with plates is like eating scraped peelings of aluminum.

P.S. In case there's any doubt what I'm talking about - when you use HSL frequently as I do, calling up the colour swatch picker when going from light to light, one or the other of RGB or HSL doesn't update with the new colour, so touching anything risks ruining your current colour. Been bitched about here [sidefx.com].

Oddly enough this was driving me crazy this morning too.

Notice when I open up primitive1's color swatch the HSV sliders are still set to primitive2's color whereas the RGB values are correct.
The only workaround that I know of is to leave the color picker open when picking different objects. Both sliders will update in this case.
