Hi,

I have reinstalled Houdini 18.5.759 as 19 was not loading at all for me on my Fedora setup.

I now cannot download Nvidia Optix denoiser from with Houdini as I get a Script Error.

It is as follows:

Script Error

/lib64/libk5crypto.so.3:undefined symbol: EVP_KDF_ctrl,version OPENSSL_1_1_1b

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>",line 1, in <module>
File "/opt/hfs18.5.759/houdini/python2.7libs/optixdownload.py",line 6,in<module>
import pycurl
ImportError: /lib64/libk5crypto.so.3:undefined symbol: EVP_KDF_ctrl,version OPENSSL_1_1_1b

Looking on the Nvidia site, there does not seem to be any downloads to install manually.

My Nvidia driver is version: 470.74

If you have a modern nvidia driver (435 or later) you'll should use the Optix 7 denoiser which is built in the driver itself and doesn't need a download. It should work automatically.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

I have version 470.74 driver installed but where would the location be for me to point the Houdini environment path to?

No env var needed. It just works if you have a recent driver.

Strange, the icon/option is greyed out within the render tab.

Strange, the icon/option is greyed out within the render tab.

You have to enable the denoiser in on the ROP for mantra or on the Karma render settings. The button doesn't work for me either.

Thanks, I'll take a look later today.
