hi

I was wondering if there is a way of writing out a series of bgeos from a rigged and animated model.

The model consists of a series of separate parts (yes, still with my robot like character…). Some parts are animated via IK (that's OBJECT level) but the ROP output driver to write the geometry out is SOP level. I'm having problems writing the animation out as all the transforms are done at OBJECT level.

Is there some way of writing the animated sequence at object level instead?

will need it later on for instancing.

thanx!

Heya Furball,

Create a null obj, and name it WORLD – leave it alone for a minute. will need it later

Create a new obj, and inside it put down an object-merge sop. add all the character's bit and pieces.

In the transform object field, select the null created earlier.

append a geometry rop, and you should be off to the races.

Cheers,

By the way, if you are using Apprentice, you can't write out a series of Geometry like this with a ROP. You need the commercial version for this.

This is not true as of 8.1 (i.e., some time ago). The Geometry ROP works in Apprentice.
