I'm trying to find the relationship between Particle Separation and Mass scale to keep consistent looking simulations.
This is important when quickly iterating with large Particle Separation values used to keep sim times small.
Changing ONLY Particle Separation will chnage the actual look of your sim, not just the reaolution.
Any FLIP experts care to chime in?

art3miswhat Mass scale are you talking about? I don't think FLIP is using mass at all
and Mass scale
the most important for FLIP is the grid resolution so as long as you compensate the gridscale for your Particle Separation change to keep the actual voxel resolution the same you have a better chance to get similar results
but nowadays it may be easier to just upress, especially with SOP level FLIP workflow
