Sprite Rendering in Mantra

Hi,

Could anyone help me with a walk through on how to get Mantra to render sprites?

I'm slightly going in circles trying to follow the documentation.

I've basically got some point geometry with a sprite sop on. I just want to get it out to Mantra with a constant shader on it.

It doesn't work how I remember it. I thought the spriteshop attribute assigned the sprite shader, but it looks like it only works if the sprite shader is assigned at object level.

I suspect bit-rot has led to this feature not working as expected.
