somebody know if it's possible to import a 3dstudio max mesh into houdini apprentice?
cause 3ds is not a support format (i tried but no way :? )

Or you can export to obj. Houdini imports obj pretty well. Ever since Autodesk purchased Maya, Max has the ability to export to obj natively. In my case (I still use Max6) I have to use a free plugin that's available here:

Or, you can export to 3ds, open it in Silo, and resave as OBJ. The Silo trial will still work as a format converter after the trial period:

Curious if anyone has any formulas or equations for double checking camera data when doing this.
We are finding our FBX files imported into Houdini don't always have the exact right camera data. This is partly making sure ALL the right Max data is transferred, but if there is more specific conversions anyone knows of it would help.
For example, the same way there are maya to houdini camera conversion equations.
