Hi guys,
I know that 2GB of RAM is not much but, normally it would be enough for a 3d application… I also tested it under windows and guess what…
MacOS X 10.5.4 = apr. 36GB of Virtual RAM
Windows XP (virtual) = apr. 400MB of existing RAM
The actual version (9.5.206) also freezed
Will this problem be solved, because I think no one has more than 8GB in his Workstation…
hopping for a sollution…
best regards
Allan
P.S.: if a moderator find this thread, it would be nice if you could delete the user “Alonzo” and rename “alonzo.gfx” to “Alonzo”, because I found out that “Alonzo” am I too ops:

That's not really 36GB being used, what's being reported is the size of the address space available to the process at that point.
To see what's being actually used you can use the vmmap command (eg vmmap hescape). You'll get lots of stuff but the useful bit is towards the end where you'll find a line labelled “Writable regions:”
