Hello,

I've downloaded and installed Houdini Apprentice and I'm really excited about the possibilities with this free software. Unfortunately I can't create a Render Node when I want to make a test rendering. I get an error message telling me that the PythonScript couldn't be started.
What's wrong here?

I recognize that error too, I used to get it.
I had to muck around with versions, trying different ones until I got one that worked for me.
I don't know what the actual problem was though, and I think you're running the same version that works for me..

I deleted the folder and restarted Houdini. Still the same error. Maybe there's other software on my system that is disturbing? I have a few other 3d apps…

try reinstalling to something other than “Program Files”

Houdini really doesn't like spaces in paths…
I use C:\houdini for my instal dir
and I have a $HOME dir on
D:\yourHomeFolder
to avoid all the crap that gets thrown into “My Documents”

Yes, that's it! I've installed into a directory without spaces and it works!

Thanks!
