equalizer in chops

Hi All,
the spectrum in chops thread got me inspired, i want to make a music equalizer using chops.
main query is how exactly does the Band EQ chop split audio into different frequencies?
other than that i'm just going to use those values to colour points and copy cubes onto them.

i have actually written it it the thread you are refering to and i can remember even one recent thread with similar problem
have you tried it?
deffinitely try it, it is just built for this purpose

oh flip…
why didn't i look at pitch before, it's perfect!
and, since when did chops support mp3's, they're working great
to a man with only a hammer every problem looks like a nail.

although…. i can load mp3's fine at work (houdini escape, kubuntu)
but at home, windows 7, houdini apprentice won't load them???
