Modelling as Volume Sampling

I would like to assemble a procedural model that could take several NURBS blobs and divide them into cubes of arbitrary dimensions, in a similar way it is done for volume sampling. The final model would then consist of cubes (or other shapes) that would be confined by the (invisible) NURBS blobs. I guess they do not have to be NURBS at all for this purpose, actually.

Any suggestions on how this might be doable in Houdini?

Which one do you mean? Your link takes me to the general list rather than to a particular example. Unless I am missing somethings…

Exchange gotchas! I think Edward meant this:

ps It seems that there is some space for improvement in this great otl thanks to volumes in H9/10. Some of the clever solutions there are obsolete now

Thanks this is very close.

Also thanks. Found it. But it does not work for me. Example files loads with errors in v.10 and the Asset does not seem to be doing anything whatever geometry I am connecting. Have to try more…
