I've been trying too set the external text editor to something other than OS X's default text editor. Has anyone been able to do it? What did you put for the environment variable?

to test:

Edit > Aliases and Variable > Variable
at the bottom fill in:
on the left:
EDITOR (important with caps)
on the right:
/path/to/what/you/like/to/use
and enter to confirm, that should work.

Once that works and you want it permanent add the line below to:

~/Library/Preferences/houdini/10.0/houdini.env

EDITOR = /path/to/what/you/like/to/use

In theory that should be all.
