That's a known issue. But the last time I read about it no one had a clue what's the reason. I have the problem regularly, and just by luck, through deleting of the cache, it works after some tries.
Houdini Lounge » Edge Grouping?

You need to specify points. Like p6-7. The way I've done it the last time was grouping points, and then use the strreplace function to place the ‘-’ inbetween. Off the top of my head it goes like this:
p`strreplace(pointlist(), “ ”, “-”)
I recall someone made an operator for edge selection, but I couldn't find the topic.

Sry, but I don't get what are you after? The group you want to delete doesn't exist here, and you translate input B down, so there is no intersection with input A.

Technical Discussion » What's the variable of the 'Point Num' attribute?
- LFX

Yes, I'm talking about:
Edit:
Looked up the attribs with python and find that it's indeed not listed as an attribute. So I have to keep adding my own.
vertex(“.”, 1, 0, “Point Num”, 0)Or is there another way to get the corresponding points of a primitive?

Hey all, I wonder how to read out the ‘Point Num’ variable on vertices. Couldn't find the keyword.
Thanks.
Thanks.

To get animation curves out of audio material a .wav file is doing just fine. You can use filter to get the different frequencies, but a clean midi is another thing. I notice you make a lot with audio. Why don't have a look at http://www.andrew-lowell-productions.com/andrew-lowell-productions/resources.html [andrew-lowell-productions.com] ? It's all covered there.

I wanted to know that, too, and yeah it's pretty simple. Put a color attribute on the point, and with an AttribTransfer set the Distance Threshold low and the Blend Width high.
Cheers!
Edit:
Oh, but if you want a fancy gradient like the one you showed, it's more complicated I think. That's a VOPs job. Don't ask me how.

That alone does nothing, but it was the solution for accurately placing the particles on position - my last problem.
Edit:
Just for the record. I found better solution for both, performance and accuracy. I transformed the particle source times in a for-each SOP, by reading out a channel, and merged the result for emitting.

No, the problem is not, that I don't get particles on every frame. But e.g. if you choose faces, ordered, the particles still get randomized on each face instead of emitting from the center.
Edit:
OK, yeah but you're right. In this particular case it depends on the accurate births.

Cool! Couldn't get used to the ‘accurate birth’ and the time blend alone, but together they rock. Thank you very much Rob!
Edit:
There is only one thing left. The particles get emitted randomly, and not ordered. I know that's a normal behaviour, but I wonder if I can get rid of that.

Hi, I need particles emitted from a moving source. I need them in a row and not as a bunch of points per frame. So is there a way to emit particles between frames. I've tried the for-each SOP, but even then the particles get only emitted on a frame. And pushing up the FPS wasn't a good idea either, because I got problems with the animation from 8001FPS on.
