I am trying to create a strike of lightning coming out of an i3d cloud. Any thoughs on how I can go about this? I'm still just learning about certain aspects of the program. Any insight would be appreciated.

If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to get an expression so that I can have the motion of a particle system take the shape of a spiral. So that the circular motion will come around and get smaller onto itself. Anyone have some ideas?

Ok I've built my model now I'm trying to have it blow away into the wind as if it were sand. I can get it to blow away as a primitive but the solid primitives are what is being sent. I need to find out a way of having it look grainular without just increasing polys to an exponential number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Little did I know about how houdini doesn't like when you call folders by certain names, like with ! or other characters. I cut that out of the folder name and it worked.

I tried keeping it on the same drive as the file I was working on, and there are no spaces in the file name. I also tried rendering it out as both a targa and a tiff to see if that did anything, but it hasn't.

I have a grid that I have placed a vex layered texture on with the shader sop and then used the UVtexture sop to get it to point foward. The shader shows up in my modeling view but when I do a test render the shader shows up red. Any thoughts on how I can fix this problem? I already tried recreating the shader and that didn't help.
