@TobiasSteiner This is a known issue which should not prevent you from logging in and using hkey as desired.

Can you give a bit more information Matt on how to do that and get it working please

I have a clean windows 10 and first app I have installed in Houdini 18.5.63 and 17.5.425 (project-related) and I get the same error message

I have tried the Side effects as my license server option as well and no luck ?

what is hkey ? how do I use it to get houdini working ?

all I get now is both versions of houdini as both send me to the license app and it's all green ticks and happy there but houdini still doesn't start

OK found a fix Press D to get Display options up then press “revert to default” at the bottom

if I open a new scene the handles are showing

BUT In my current scene ( must of hit a short cut or something )
No handles show up for any object, camera, new object nothing ??

please help tried manual found nothing ?

just found it hard to find anything as I google and google again and even tried bing ( odforce, cgpress, vimeo did not appear ?)
and hard to find a basic “how to” eg- model a chair video to get the basic intro and workflow concept.

I'll try to add something when I'm more comfortable and have the time

calling it Modeler is an issue in google,( “Houdini modeler 2020” really is a hard search )
Maybe V3 change the name to something that works better in google? IMO DMT was better.

so far I think the asset is AMAZING worth the money and glad to be modelling in Houdini and moving away from modo But what are you guys doing ?

ok where are the support or some tutorials for Modeler 2020 ?

any examples of working ? you lose viewport navigation ok ?!?.. what do you do go in and out of Modeler 2020 to navigate the view port ? or am i missing something?

any links it's abit hard as google does really know the Modeler 2020 Houdini

I have a Dome light with a HDR image to light my scene But need a White background in my Camera

in mantra I set can set this up in the Camera settings, but Redshift does not have a Background image setting ?

HI All how do you edit the weights on an Autorig Mesh ?

I read a few thread and thinking maybe it's an Update thing and something has changed?

But IF I edit the point values on all the point on my hip The colours and the values do not get updated ?

I have ByPassed the Stash Node in the Geo Node but bypass or NOT Same issue not updating?

what step am I missing ?

Using Autorig and clicking the “Operator” option and select my FBX already loaded into the scene the rig is created and the mesh does not deform.

if I select “file” with all the same options and load the same FBX I get a Rig that deforms but all the materials are stripped? ( has 5 materials ) materials are not even listed as groups after rigging.

I have the "capture|Deform by Default turn ON is all cases.

HI using Bundles to control the visibility of hundreds of objects in my Scene (human body all internals etc)

I see Bundles is listed as “Legacy” now ,. what is the replacement or alternative workflow if we are moving away from using Bundles? what are the advantages over Bundles ?

no,must be something my side then I did check animation export ( it's now 3 days hitting this issue pretty much-tried everything in everything way) but no animation appears in unity for that item only that scene was huge alot of simulation, tons of animation all was export using FBX no really issue.

except this last null and cube…

are there config files for FBX export in Houdini ?
or should i just a complete uninstall reinstall of Houdini ??

First houdini is Great

but Man I am having real problems with exporting using FBX it's been uneven since i moved to houdini for the last 4 months some may be user-related cool but

I'm using both the File-> export FBX and the FBX export node

so far all i can say is fbx is slow getting worst and more unreliable in my current scene. ?


I have deleted EVERYTHING from the scene the only thing left is a null ( that has animation) and a Cube parented to the null (just to have some geo)

still no luck with export ?

I need this animation in Unity to go with the simulation work I have already got out of Houdini, but it's now 3 days and this is the last item I needs out of Houdini, 2 day seeing the fbx export do nothing and export NO animation is really …. a pain.

Please check the Hiplc file, attached if you can give me a FBX with the animation that would be great too. if you can tell me why or where I got exporting out of Houdini wrong so i don't run into this again that would be even better…

can you inflate as a animation using the Pressure Constrain Stuffness Slider ?

also I tried using the Constrain Vellum Property as shown in the video below

is an expression the only way to animate a value ?
or am I missing something trying to keyframe the value slider ? is that logic not the Houdini way ?

HI got a scene with bone animations and curve deformer etc ( from game tools) about 1300 frame worth and can not get it to export?

Maybe it's related to the error I get with game tools in the file dependences? $job manager?

anywhere else I should check ? or tip on Alembic export ?
