Hello all,
Really pressed for time right now and I can't figure out for the life of me why rendering exr files to disk makes it such that the opacity maps used in the mantra surface material come out translucent instead of invisible
Using micropoly. It works fine with PBR, but I can't use PBR for this…
Thanks in advance!

Solved. Ish.
Finally figured out that it's in the render node that you actually put those -M commands xD (Under the Main tab, on the command line, for you newbs like me).
Wondering how high you can safely make this amount with 48 gigs of RAM?

Hello all!
I posted a similar but longer question over at odforce, but I thought I'd more simply ask here: how do you change the Ray Mesh Cache Size described here [odforce.net] (at the bottom of the page)?
I tried looking around, I mucked about in the command line, but being at the end of my first project in Houdini has fried my brain and I can't figure it out!
(Here [forums.odforce.net]'s my original post).
Thanks sooooo much!

Well, I finally managed the opacity map by looking at the material shader builder… seems really simple and dumb of me, now that I look back xD
Still curious about the photoshop to Houdini workflow, though…

Hello all,
Hope it's not bad manner to cross-post (I asked at odforce here [forums.odforce.net]).
Was wondering how to use an opacity map with a texture in Houdini 11. Following all the tutorials online is difficult because the ones I've found are in r. 9 and I'm new to the scene.
Ideally I'd like to figure out how to utilize the alpha channel from Photoshop, but I can't even get an opacity map to work when I add a texture channel to the opacity Base Color Map under the hood of, say, the mantra surface material from the material palette. (I'm sure that's just the wrong way to go about it…)
Thanks a ton in advance for the help!
