Hey guys. Happy New Year.
I've got an alembic animated character which has no name attribute. I want to make a fire sim around the character but I don't want the sim to be affected by the character animation, meaning I don't want the velocity of the animation to affect the fire sim.
So I'd like to strip the animation from the character, make the sim and reapply the animation. How can I do that?
Thanks.

Hey guys.
I don't know if this is the right channel to request things but I'd very much like to have a native SOP to export .prt sequences. There are some solutions out there but none of them is native. Could you guys from SideFX implement this please?
Thanks.

Hi guys.
I'm new to Houdini. I'm comfortable with the interface and the basics of FX in Houdini. I have this project to blow up a building. I modeled a basic building structure in 3DS MAX with wall, window frames and glass. So I want to do everything right. How do I export to Houdini? Using .FBX? Is there any tutorials for it?
Thanks.

Hi guys.
Ok, this is the thing. I'm new to Houdini. I'm a advanced 3DS MAX user and I can do a pyroclastic cloud in MAX using particles. I tried to do the same in Houdini but I'm lost. Does someone know a tutorial or at least, how to approach this?
Thank you.

Hello guys.
I´m new to Houdini (MAX user). I´m a FX Artist and I´m having a beginner issue here. I tried to import a chair GEO as .obj from 3DS MAX (I attached all pieces together so that it´d be one piece of geo). I worked out how to do basic RBS sims in Houdini so I imported the chair, made it a RBD object and so far so good. When I try to simulate, the chair simulates all it´s individual pieces as if they were each one a RBD sim. What am I missing?
Thanks.
