I'm trying to record mouse movements in Houdini. I have the mouse device set up and it is controlling my object. I'm piping that into a record node, hitting play and then hitting export on the record node to playback animation but I get nothing. Anyone know how to properly record real-time input?

Are there any (free) tutorials out there on how to rig characters in Houdini? Looking for basic info on reverse foot and working with muscle (seems like they're not fully polished and may require knowledge of some best practices to make them work the way one would expect).

Looking for any information on how a newcomer from Maya and XSI can recreate non-linear animation and animation layers workflow concepts (applied to the cartoon character for example) in Houdini… CHOPS seem to be more than capable to handle this very common these days approach to animation, yet Houdini docs don't seem to touch on that at all.

How can I add a texture to existing materials…? Take any material from the Houdini material library, e.g. glass… I'd like to add a texture to control specularity or diffuse. Can't seem to figure it out or find and info in the docs.

1) I'd like to paint an area where material X will use Texture A where painted, texture B (could be procedural) where I have not specificed
2) I'd like to blend 2-3 procedural textures similar to how textures can be blended in photoshop, e.g. layered, masks, method (add, multiply, subtract etc.)
3) Same as #1, but blend the existing materials (e.g. glass and concrete)

It won't appear in H10 as far as I know - it is not SESI's code.
Currently it is compiled for H9.1 so you have two options, downgrade to that version or if you desperatetely need it for the current one compile it yourself. roll
