Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Trying to fracture an hour glass for sand to flow out of

I'm trying to fracture the glass at the bottom with a marble hitting it, but I'm not having any luck. I'm not sure on the right attempt/order to do it. I was thinking to fracture the glass, cache it, then use it as a static again so the sand can flow out of it. I have the section grouped(ToFracture). Thanks in advance if anyone can help me. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1d669zfi3YNhgZALW8tAVCE2AvoD9pnqi [drive.google.com]

Hello everyone, I have a simple scene with a hour glass I downloaded. I turned the glass into a collider and put a sphere inside and turned it into dry sand. When I simulate it, the sand “bust” out of the glass and I can't figure out why. I thought maybe holes in the geo or the thickness. So I extruded the geo and used a facet and still no luck. If someone can help, thank you very much. Enjoy your day.

Hello everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to break the geo into individual pieces that I then could transfer the forces onto them by the color attribute. Still don't understand how attributes yet work and am trying to increase my understanding. I don't know if I am going about it the wrong way or am over complicating it. Thanks in advance.

I did't know it made another dop network for the white water. And had to figure out about the explicit cache. Thank you very much, appreciate it.

Hello everyone, I have a scenario and hope someone can help me figure it out. I have a water simulation and have it cached( The DOP I/O and used a file node to cache the necessary fields). I then added whitewater to the cache. Everything is working the way it is supposed to. I have the foam and splash already cached. I am trying to cache the bubbles but the electricity happened to blink on me twice due to the weather in over a week. And it's resulting in me having to start the simulation over and it is a very time consuming scene. Does anyone know of a way I can start caching again but be able to restart from where it ends if the electricity should blink again, and for future reference? Thank you very much.

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good day. I am working on a scene and hope someone can help me understand what is causing a rendering problem. I am trying to better understand how rendering works in houdini. The fluid is a brown color to simulate coke. Everything was going good until I added the ice cubes. Since I did that the fluid turns white when it goes in the cup, close to the cubes. I hope someone can help me figure this out. Thank you and have a nice day

Hello everyone. I am new to trying to advect and have run into an issue. I cached the sim from the smoke and used a dop i/o to read it from. The particles are following the pattern from the cache but the problem I am running into is that particles are also forming around the cache and forming a box. Looks like its following the shape of the container. I have included the file. I hope someone can help me figure out what I am missing to eliminate this issue. Thank you. I added the scene file but the cache was too large to add. I have the flipbook for the smoke and the advection. Also the advect is flattening at the top as if its reached the limit of the container. I was also wondering why that would be happening since the original smoke didn't do that.

Thank you very much. I appreciate. I was having a lot of difficulty with this since I am new to this form of process. The gif was very helpful as well.

Hello everyone, I am hoping someone can help me with this. I have a simple scene that I am using to practice with. I only want to cache the velocity and density of the smoke. I have cached before but I don't know how to only get those fields.
Also I am trying to understand how to import the cache to use as an advect. Would I make a geo node and use a dop i/o?
Thank you
