here is something which might be useful. remember 'orient' is a quaternion value so to visualize it you have to set the style to the axis. otherwise, it won't show accurate results.

the issue here is you're using the transform node before the wrangle node. when you say @v=@P that means the velocity of the object is the same as the position of every point, so when you move the point(object), the velocity value moves to cause Houdini calculates the position of every point from the world origin. try to set the wrangle node at the top of your node tree and make sure other nodes don't messy with the velocity values. that way it should work.

Thank you. this certainly solves the issue. I didn't know what was wrong so I tried all the parameters. I guess I made the situation worse than it actually was.

Hello everyone. I hope you are doing great.
I'm pretty new to Houdini and have been learning it for some time now. I feel good about the skills I acquired in the last few months and am working on my portfolio to get a job or freelance on this.
my first goal for the portfolio shot is a liquid effect where the liquid will fall from a source on my name and reveal it as a total for my video. it'll be viscous fluid and will stick to the surface of my object. but in some places, the solver is causing some weird issues, it's linking the objects together by creating a bridge-like thing make out of the liquid. I had tried almost everything but due to lack of knowledge,

I haven't managed to fix this. I'll add a short video to show the issue. please let me know what should I do and if there is any solution to it.
thank you.

Houdini Indie and Apprentice » Partition? Copy Stamp? How cam I use those deprecated nodes?

Hi there. Houdini is always trying to provide the best user experience with as much optimize as possible at the time. Those node you described are old and pull more resources to compute the same result you can get from the new nodes. For example, if you use the copy stamp vs the copy to point nodes and measure the timing in the performance monitor tab you can see in some cases the copy to point node is 10x faster.
As for the interface, if you press 'D' in the scene view you can change the settings and customize it however you like.
Hope this helps.

Hi, in that case, I'm not sure what is causing the issue. I downloaded the file you refer to and tested it in unity and it's working fine on my end. I'm using the most updated version of both Houdini(19.5) and unity(2021.3.8f1) and imported the "Level_Builder_Tutorial_File" from the tutorial project file.

Hi there.
assuming you're using the default curve tool that comes with Houdini, This is a common issue after the curve tool gets updated to version 2.0. it's not well integrated with the Houdini engine yet. you should use the old version 1.0 for this sort of work. (Houdini engine related).
to get version 1.0, here is what you'll have to do,
go to Assets in the top bar > go the asset manager > configuration > Assets Definition Tool
by default, it will be 'hide', select the 'show always'.
now at the curve tool parameter, you'll see the Assets name and path, beside that you can select the version of the node.
hope this will help.
