Heys guys. I can't render fire in Houdini 20.0.590. I'm trying to use karma in solaris nut nothing happens. If I use a lop context, it works but not in stage context. Does anyone know a tutorial to do it? The XPUPYRO node doesn't exist anymore on SOLARIS. Thanks.

Hey guys.
I'm starting with Solaris and I want to bring a single pieces of geo that has several different materials. Is there a way to apply that in Solaris or do I have to split the geo according to the materials and then bring it over into Solaris? Thanks.

I've been rendering with Karma XPU and it seems there's nothing wrong but when I look at the terminal, I see this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey guys.
I use Debian 12. I just installed Houdini but whenever I try to launch Houdini, it gives this message
No OpenCL platform has the specified device type (HOUDINI_OCL_DEVICETYPE): GPU.
Falling back to built-in CPU OpenCL driver (see HOUDINI_USE_HFS_OCL)

4440: Fatal error: Segmentation fault (sent by pid 0)
I have a GTX 1080.
I saw this fix online
"However, SideFX devs got a solution for me, so if that issue occurs to anyone, try to add this environment variable to your 'houdini.env' file:
HOUDINI_USE_HFS_OCL=0
This will prevent Houdini's built-in driver (also from CPU) from conflicting with GPU drivers."
but then I can't use my GPU for AXIOM for instance. Any ideas for this?

Hey guys.
I guess this pops up a lot but here it goes.
I rendered a flip sim with a black BG and tried to comp it in Nuke using a blueish-whiteish BG. The renders have a halo. Is this a render issue or a comp issue?

Hey guys.
Finally figured out the issue. Totally my mistake.
I was launching houdini from the terminal using
hindie-bin
and that was not loading the correct configuration including not deploying the correct directories.
The right command is
hindie

Ok.
I think there's a bug with this version of Houdini. I installed the latest daily build and it worked out of the box.

I'm completely new to PDG and I'm trying to render a single rop fetch but it's not working. I install H19.5.682 from the Houdini Launcher as a default installation.
I'm not sure what's wrong. Please help.

Hey guys.
I know this question pops up from time to time but I was wondering if anyone did tests about Houdini velocity and stability with various linux distros.
I'm using Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.2 and it's fast but apart from this, I only used gnome.
Does anyone can tell me if I'm in the right distro?

Hey guys.
In nuke, when we want to swap a node for another we hold CTRL+SHIFT and drop the node on top the one we want to get rid of. Is there something alike in Houdini?
