So going inside of the smoke object and modifing the node "set_bounds" like this is the only way I see to close all boundarys, would be nice if someone from sideFX see this and maybe tell the correct way to do it or maybe add it as update for next release

Hi
Is is possible to close all boundary or to ask sideFx to please bring back the old boundaries controls in the smoke object vs the sparse smoke object, the Sparse smoke seem to only work in one side at a time, is there any way to just pick all boundary or having that small option of each side separate

Technical Discussion » [py] How to change label of a single paramer instance of multiparm block folder?

The label type paramater seems to do the trick, thanks!
But interestingly when you set the value for myLabelParm.set("My label"), it would set the value for the Label1 field, not for the actual main label.
That's an issue because I would like the text to be justified to the left, and not floating around like mad when you resize the window. Only the main label stays on place.
I bet there's some kind of RFE already for labels alignment options.
Also, labels this kind of labels misalignment with everything else is really triggering me
hey Hi men, is possible to know how you achive this, Im stock trying to do it, I just make a new post for get help

Technical Discussion » Timeblend node vs new Retime node
- sheep

Hi
I have tried multiple times to use the new Retime node for time blend since this one has been removed but always find issues when is a simulation or some deforming geo, I don't get it to work with any of the interpolation it offers, not point count change, then the only easy solution I had is open Houdini 16 and copy back the old Timeblend node and always work “plug and play”.
I find the new Retime node is kind over-complicated for things that were working well in previews nodes
Anyone have a good video or example on how to proper timeblend with the new Retime node or how to bring back the old Timeblend by default???

i recently ran into a memory problem and it can help here too.
decrease your bucket / tile size. our 8core computer didn't ram out, but our 48core computer did. So after some dev'ing we saw that 48 buckets loaded more scene into the ram at a given time, changing tile size from 16 to 8 or even 4 made the memory survive just fine.
Cool
good information , it help me a lot, thanks

Can you give more information? Is this a native particle system from Houdini or is it geo loaded from disc, is it procedurally generated in Houdini, etc.?
its a Geo cache with fractures RBD with secondary fractures dynamically, so the point numbers change when start breaking. Now using that cache need to break more some areas

Hi,
yep, sop solver is what you're looking for, but you might want to try “Solver” asset in SOPs its a same solver just a bit friendlier.
