display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered
but after that the houdini screen is black and have to restart houdini

from what ive seen houdini is not very good when it comes to speed on simulation, cloth (syflex and ncloth is alot faster), fluid (maya's one is faster), fluid particle (realflow's is so much faster), even rigid body dynamics i can find lots of other apps thats can calculate faster. the other day i tried to simulate sumthing that in realflow u could have done it with ease, in houdini it just run out of memory…
but i found that in houdini theres so much that u can do, that in other package… u just either cant or takes alot of scripting or coding your own plugins.
so i think choose wisely which 1 to use for your project

but from what ive seen here, transform node change the normal coordinate from one space coordinate to another right?
the position (in sop vop) in global parameter is in local coordinate(is this right?), and ones tries to get the coordinate of each point in a world space, we can also use this transform vop node with interpretation being set to position, from space is set to object space and to space is set to global, and 3d entity value is connected to point position from global variables node. am i right? if im wrong … how would we do it? to transfer from one coordinate space to another…does every vex command has the equivalent node in vop?

i use houdini 9.5.230 the vop node transform doesnt do anything…
it supposed to transform from one space coordinate to another right?
is it a bug or? maybe i just dunno how to use it…(no help on it either)

i did a test on houdini's rbd its a simulated chain. i have a few question can anyone help?
1. how to solve the inter-penetrating problem
2. is it possible to make the calculation faster
if anyone can look up this file and maybe modify it and upload it again so that i can c how to resolve this problem
btw why it interpenetrate in the first place i thought houdini is suppose to be very good at dynamic simulation? because in maya this things solved even faster than realtime and give me the correct result in my machine whereas in houdini its quite slow and it inter-penetrate
so please help me if u can… let me c the magic of houdini…

hi
i did this in xsi, i create a script that did:
for each edge i compare the neighbor polygon normal, and how big the angle between those 2 vector if the angle is less than my specified treshold value the edge will be deleted.
now how can i do it in houdini, does anyone knows?
is it posible to do it via vop? (does anyone knoe how can i do iteration on edge or polygon in vop,it seem that it only works with vertex ?no?)
or via sop is it possible?
