Ok so update: It does work on mac os. No idea why though. The good news is that I can participate in todays challenge. The bad news is that the main problem still persists.
Also it seems to run much much faster in mac os than in bootcamp. Is it not recomended to run Houdini in bootcamp for any reason? Thank everyone for you patience with this newbie!

Hi everyone!
First post here so apologies for any accidental breaches of protocol/etiquette
So every time I try to run a sim with the the "shape match" node Houdini crashes immediately. It happens every single time with no exceptions. I tried powering off and restarting multiple times. This is my first time using the the node as well.
I checked every other vellum constraint and none of the others cause the same issue. Oddly enough, this issue occurs even when I download and try to run example files, specifically I tried to run the H19 example "02_ShapeMatch" which can be found here:
https://www.sidefx.com/tutorials/h19-nodes/ [www.sidefx.com]
I know those files should run so I think the issue is an interaction between my Houdini and my computer.
I'm currently working with:
Windows 10 home 21H1
Running on Macbook pro through boot camp
intel core i9
16 Ram
AMD Pro 5500M
Runing Houdini Apprentice 19.0.498
Do I just not have the specs?
Is there a way I can check to see what sort of exception was thrown or if theres a seg fault? (if thats rellevant)
I'm hoping this is a known issue with an easy fix because I really want to participate in today's mardini challenge.
Currently I'm trying to download Houdnini on the mac os side of my computer and run the files in there. I'll update if it works there or not.

So I made a little wax seal today. I think ideally this would make a really fun animation but the big challenge is getting the plascticity deform to be sensitive enough to actually pick up a seal design without sticking to the stamp. overall this was a really fun experiment

Just playing with some droplets and a leaf. I've really been enjoying diping my toes into vellum this week and Im excited to revisit this concept when I have more experience.

The Idea here is a glass sand stream trickling into a crystal cavern and flowing over this crystal pillar. Ive probably been playing too much final fantasy but it would be really fun to make the rest of the environment this asset could go into.

So somehow this ended up looking beter pre render than it does post. Theres a little bit of beginers fustration here but with that theres always the oportunity to improve. I originally imagined some beautiful pillowy fuzy mold colonies but I dont think Im at a level with this node where I can acheive that just yet.

Just some fun slime droplets. Originally wanted to do some slime mold but had a busy day and setled for some abstract slime. As always its been a really fun learning process

Just playing around with a fun idea I had to try and make a waterfall out of glass shaded cloth. (Also, my first time using vellum. It was super fun!) I get the impression that this type of thing could be really interesting for modeling laminar flow

I went for a little stylized radish farm for today. I wish I had more time to play around with this node and this lil radish farm. I was hoping to introduce some more randomness and make the radishes truly procedural but I definitely now have ideas for future projects

First time playing with topobuild and poly draw, and my attempt at some fantasy crystals using it! Im excited to revisit these tools at some point and maybe polish up this concept :)
edit: tried uploading a third photo bc it looks like I'm getting a color distortion/darkening from somwhere between rendering and uploading to the forum

I didnt have much time today but wanted to keep learning and thought this was a good opportunity to practice some geometry that was a little more abstract.

I for the revolve node I tried to make some rock pillars with some worley noise and VDB erode. Im sure theres probably a more effecient way to do this but it was fun to find a way to use the revolve rows to build some geometry. Haha its also clear that I need to learn some deeper render skills.

Hi everyone!
I just started learning Houdini a couple weeks ago and this is actually my first model without using a tutorial! The idea was to use the curve tool to model a fantasy/stylized mushroom/tree bassed on the real life stink horn mushroom. Tips and critique is of course welcomed and Im honored to participate with all you
