Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Also for putting “you can do it easily in VOPs” into perspective.

In VEX all points are computed a the same time : SIMD.
In my tries to remove one of the points within a specified radius - always both points were removed. I explained this with SIMD and used a pythonSOP instead.
I guess with enough procedural energy one indeed can get a VOPSOP network wired up to do this?

Three state toggles are a pain.
Like this 5(?) state toggle, that's supposed to quickly toggle between object/world/grid coordinate systems in the viewport?

You cannot copy POPnetworks.
I forgot the exact reason but there's a discussion somewhere on odforce explaining this. Most likely a POPnetwork being a closed context and not a SOP.
A foreachSOP is something like a fancy copySOP IMO - that's why I'd expect this approach to fail too.

Guess the answer depends on the lines.
DXF/IGES conversion is an expensive and adventurous hobby. Writing a custom data converter sometimes is the best way to go.

I somehow seem to remember that you sometimes require an Up vector …
Often you can just generate N and swap it to orient in an Attribute SOP.

Still, if you add the new filetype to GEOio it will show up in the list.
Maybe add a dummyDoNothing converter?

like this
'flip' is a spare channel that is used to animate the flipping progress.
The expression clamp(-$PT + $NPT * ch(“flip”), 0, 1) returns a 0 to 1 value for each point.

I am not really sure if I understand what you're trying to do.
However I found it quite handy to use $F as an fake $AGE.
Manipulate it - I like to clamp and divide until it becomes some normalized 0..1 value.
Use this to drive CHOPs, copySOPs, fileSOPs, whatever.

Hi,
I know in many text-based apps e.g., MS Word, one can do this no problem.
Only if the license of the font allows to do so.

There are some point cloud shader samples posted on odforce.
The surface gets shaded based on the distance to the points.
If you need to light a surface I'd take this.
If you need the light in a volume I guess you need to roll your own version of the ASAD light and plug a multiplier ramp/curve into the falloff calculation.

True, fnmatch wouldn't match houdini's syntax.
For more complex queries you could use regex, though.
