This peice was non-commercial work to advertize the director's skills in creating complex CG/Live action spots. The director is Andrew Hardaway and my friend. I colloborated with him and animation TD on character design, and created the sub-d model of the creature and the wheel rims. I did the modeling and UV layout in Houdini then passes the geometry to animators at RADIUM who use both Houdini and Maya, but Maya was the animation package. I was new to Houdini and learning SOPs, and thought that this prokject would be a good conduit for me for learning production modeling in Houdini.
I hope you like it.

Thanx.

I think I got Houdini modeling down cold. I prefer modeling in it to Maya. However all other parts of Houdini are just not comprehendible to me.
I really don't like how so much stuff is hidden from user in form of scripting and expressions. You can't learn Houdini by experimentation. As the features are not apparent. I find online documentation to be non-instructive.
