It's simply called a channel reference in Houdini. Linking any parameter to “drive” another.
Go to the “driver” channel, the TY channel of a box for example, RMB on the channel and “Copy Parameter”.
Go to the channel that you want “driven”, the TY of a sphere as the example, and RMB on the TY channel, “Paste Copied Reference”.
Done
See the syntax? It's simply a path to the channel you want to reference,
ch(“/obj/box_object1/ty”)

probbinsThis is not what set driven key means.

One way for doing it is explained here: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=597&Itemid=216 [sidefx.com]
Another way is to use the Blend Pose tool in the Modify shelf: http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini9.1/shelf/blendpose [sidefx.com]

Once you have the BlendPose tool dialog window open, the help button there has more details. Direct web link: http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini9.1/ref/windows/blendpose [sidefx.com]
